Kaskaskia College narrows presidential search to two finalists

CENTRALIA –Kaskaskia College has announced it has two finalists in the nation-wide search for a president to replace the retiring President Dr. James Underwood.

According to an afternoon press release, the two finalists have been selected for on campus visits and interviews. The candidates’ schedules will include an open forum with faculty, staff, and students, an interview with the Presidential Search Committee and an interview with the Board of Trustees. The candidates will also be provided a tour of the College and the surrounding area.The finalists are scheduled as follows:

Dr. Penny Quinn currently serves as Vice President and Chief Academic and Chief Student Service Officer at Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas and will visit the College on March 3, 2015.

Dr. Bruce Exstrom currently serves as the Vice President of Instruction at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas will visit the College on March 5, 2015.

Members of the community are welcome to attend the Open Forums for the candidates, which will be held in the Lifelong Learning Center from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the above dates.
