CENTRALIA — Illinois State Police is investigating the death of a 53-year-old woman on the south side of Centralia early Wednesday morning.

According to Trooper Jayme Bufford, around  3  a.m. Wednesday, November, 28, ISP investigators with Zone 8 were contacted by the Centralia Police Department to conduct a death investigation in the 1200 block of South Cherry Street in Centralia where a 53-year-old female was found deceased.

The investigation is open and ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
