CENTRALIA — Joseph Groh, 65, of Centralia, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
He was born April 27, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Charles Groh and Theresea (Bucz) Groh. He met the love of his life, Hope Avis Bielinski, they had four children and she preceded him in death.
Joseph is survived by his significant other: Carol Ingold of Centralia; four children: Joseph Groh of Centralia, Ashley Melvin and husband Brian of Richview, Justin Groh of St. Charles, Missouri, and Angelica Groh of Carlyle; five grandchildren: Braylen Melvin, Asher Melvin, Gracelynn Groh, Carter Groh and Camryn McDaniel; a brother: Nicholas Clark of Chicago; two sisters: Donna Phelps of Centralia and Kathy Clark of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Theresea Groh, life companion: Hope Bielinski, three brothers: Robert Phelps, Ricky Clark, and Carmen Groh.
Joseph had a passion for welding and worked as a welder for 40 plus years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and taking pictures. Joseph was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls fan. He loved taking care of animals and always would lend a helping hand. Joseph’s children were his world and he cherished the time he spent making memories.
Per Joseph’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held.
