WEST FRANKFORT – A McLeansboro man was arrested on meth-related charges following a traffic stop on Illinois 149 near I-57 in West Frankfort just before 2 Thursday morning.

Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon says the driver, 48-year-old Kimberly A. Flanders of Harrisburg did not possess a valid driver’s license. Based on information obtained during the stop, a probable cause search of the vehicle was completed.

Prior to the search, deputies identified the passenger in the vehicle as 28-year-old Patrick E. Vaughan of McLeansboro.

During the search, methamphetamine and methamphetamine drug paraphernalia were located.

As a result of the stop, Flanders was charged with No Valid Driver’s License. She was cited and released. Vaughan was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine – a Class 3 felony and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – a Class A misdemeanor. He was lodged in the Franklin County Jail.

West Frankfort Police and Illinois State Police assisted the sheriff’s office with the traffic stop.
