BENTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake will host the annual “Trick or Treat the Visitor Center” event on Oct. 29, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free, family-friendly event is open to all ages.
The event will kick off at 10 a.m. with a special presentation by Rend Lake Park Rangers titled “Slithery Snakes and Creepy Crawlies,” featuring live animals. Seating for the program is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants can enjoy a variety of Halloween-themed activities, including a Glow-in-the-Dark Scavenger Hunt, Halloween Sensory Bins courtesy of Seeking Sensory, LLC of Benton, and Trick or Treating with residents from Heritage Woods of Benton and staff from Community Crosswalk Action Agency. Candy for the event has been donated by Jim Muir, Franklin County Circuit Clerk, along with other volunteers.
