Ruth Ann Ellis, 84, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:20 pm November 21, 2024. She was born May 7, 1940 in Mount Vernon to the late Willard Archie and Virginia Ruth (Burton) Rightnowar. Ann married Kenneth David Ellis on July 16, 1958. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage.
Ann is survived by her children, Debra Ellis of Mount Vernon, Kenneth Issac Ellis and wife, Lynne of Montana, and Vicki Huston and husband, Frank, Jr. of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Rylan Donoho and significant other, Jennifer Maxey, Kendra Donoho and significant other, Joseph Prince, Shena Marlow and husband, Jason, Jolene Williams and husband, Erik, Micah Ellis and significant other, Robert Jennings, and Taylor Corbett and husband, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Zayden Marlow, Leah Ellis, River Corbett, Karsyn Ellis, Aubrey Corbett, Maximus Williams, Tyreal Williams, and Adriel Jennings; brother, Larry Rightnowar and wife, Beverly of Belle Rive, Illinois; sister, Sharon Grimes of Mount Vernon; and adopted daughter, Jeanette Young.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her grandson, David Matthew Ellis; niece, Debbie Rightnowar; brothers, Jerry Rightnowar and Terry Rightnowar; and nephews, Gary Rightnowar, Steve Rightnowar, and Timothy Risley.
The Ellis family would like to give a special “thank you” to the family at Nature Trail Health Care Center for going beyond the call of duty.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor David Schlag officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Ann’s honor to Harmony Cemetery.
