
Jerry Lee Lisenby, 88, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 2:32 am April 8, 2025 at his home. He was born October 5, 1936 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Hugh William and Maybell (Minor) Lisenby. Jerry married Wanda Louise (Chambliss) Lisenby on January 17, 1959. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his daughter, MaLinda Breeze and husband, Rick of Radcliff, Kentucky; son, Chuck Lisenby of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Thad Breeze and wife, Brea of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Elizabeth Mattingly and husband, Rob of Muldraugh, Kentucky, Mary Grinnell and husband, Daniel of Elizabethtown, Kentucky Hannah Champlin and husband, Nate of Upton, Kentucky, David Breeze and fiancée, Destiny of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Judith Marshall and husband, Stephen of Dix Hills, New York, Jacob Breeze and wife, Sarah of Cecilia, Kentucky, and Kelly Ivers and husband, Ryan of Albers, Illinois; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Ellen Hayes of Mount Vernon and Joyce Aleen Lynch and husband, Doug of Carlinsville, Illinois; and eight nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Vicki Lisenby; and siblings, Delores May Bain and Wendall Hugh Lisenby.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Mount Vernon Elks, and a camping group. Jerry enjoyed bowling with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at 10:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Hayes and Pastor Rick Breeze officiating. Interment will follow at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Jerry’s honor to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or SSM Hospice.
