Rhonda Lynn Barbee, age 69 of Centralia, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Rhonda was born on December 31, 1955 in Christopher, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Juanita (Hestand) Lane. She married David L. Barbee Sr. on February 14, 1976 in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, David L. Barbee and wife Jennifer of Vienna, Illinois, and Charles L. Barbee and fiancé Audrey Bryan of Centralia; grandchildren, Kourtney Williams and husband Kaleb, Riley Barbee, Daniel Barbee, Abigail Barbee, Austin Tuey, Colton Goines, and Samuel Goines; a great grandson, Keaton Williams; her two dogs, Chloe and Luka “Bologna Roll”; an aunt, Margie Benjamin of Odin; cousins Darrell Benjamin and wife Amy of Mascoutah, and Michael Benjamin of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Juanita; her husband, David Barbee Sr.; a grandson, Jakob Riley Barbee; and a cousin, Glenn Benjamin.

Rhonda was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and crocheting, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem from 4:00-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and will be received at the funeral home.
