BELLE RIVE, Ill. — Callie Voris (Hale) Adams, 93, of Belle Rive, IL passed away peacefully at her home on December 4, 2023.
She was born on May 23, 1930, to Hershel and Ophel (Hodge) Hale. She became a Christian at a young age and attended the Ina Free Will Baptist Church her entire life, as her parents were charter members. She was an active member who taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and many other events throughout the years.
On February 16, 1950, she married Nolan Alfred Adams at her parents’ home in Bonnie, IL. She and Nolan worked their farm together and there raised their five children. She worked as a secretary at Belle Rive School and a 4-H leader while her children were members. She took pride in taking care of her family and home and enjoyed decorating, sewing, crocheting, antiquing, and many other creative tasks which she would many times do for others.
Their family includes their five children, Terry Nolan and wife Debbie (Nociar) Adams of Belle Rive, Trena Renee and husband Dennis Owen of Punta Gorda, FL, Mikah Noell and husband Bill Watts of Bonnie, Elayna Robin Adams of Ina, and Monte Kent and wife Shelley (Burnett) Adams of Belle Rive.
Thirteen grandchildren, Erin (Adams) and husband Mike Feinstein, Joshua Adams, Seth Adams and wife Andrea (Martin), Miranda (Owen) and husband Jason Craddock, Jonathan Owen and wife Suzanne (McVay), Emilee (Watts) and husband Ryan Mygatt, Kylie (Watts) and husband Jason Hicks, Traven Watts and wife Sarah (Smith), McClain (Fowler) and husband Robert Lea, Clayton Fowler and wife Lauren (Jenkins), Huston Fowler and wife Jordana (Beaty), Taylor (Adams) and husband Levi Marsh, and Zebadiah Adams and wife Tiffany (Imperiale).
The family has grown to include 39 great-grandchildren. Shaina and Morgan Feinstein, Baylee and Chloe Adams, Kenley, Lexi, and Cruz Adams, Ethan, Bryce, and Lucas Craddock, Elijah, Josiah, and Isabela Owen, Trey and Marlowe Mygatt, Judd, Molly, Ellie, Sadie, Abram, Levi, Ruby, and Nolan Hicks, Afton, Stella, and Syler Watts, Jersey, Huck, Thyus, and Thadden Lea, Jentry, Boone, Georgia Fowler, Norah, Charlotte, Iris, and Samuel Fowler, Briggs and Blake Marsh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Thara (Hale) and Clayburn Bevis, Dorlores (Hale) and Floyd Payne, and infant sister Jacqueline, and great-grandson Huck Lea.
Funeral services for Voris Adams will be held at the Ina Free Will Baptist Church with Brother Brad Ryan officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 9th at 1:00 pm with a service at 5:00 pm. Burial will be at Kirk Cemetery in Ina with the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ina Free Will Baptist Church.
