A West Frankfort man has been arrested and charged for allegedly stabbing a Sesser man in the 1000 block of North Road Monday night.

According to West Frankfort Police Chief John Prudent, officers responded to the scene around 10:20 p.m.

When officers arrived they made contact with the victim, 31-year-old James M. Sneed of Sesser.  After speaking with Sneed as well as other witnesses on the scene, 23-year-old Joshua T. Beaumont of West Frankfort was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery.

Sneed was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening laceration. Beaumont was also transported to a local hospital for medical treatment before being taken and lodged in the Franklin County Jail.
