It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet wife and mother, Dixie Mae Karch, on Saturday, February 15 with her family at her side. Dixie was born April 6, 1938 to parents Bob and Ruby (Stonecipher) Melton. She married Tom Karch June 17, 1973.

She worked over 30 years at the Salem IGA and was known as the little lady in the meat department. She was friend to one and all. She was very well known for her homemade candies and everyone worked hard to get on her candy list. It wasn’t difficult, all you had to do was be nice to her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Tom. Also survived by daughter Debbie (Mike) Malone of Alma; Diane (Dale) Krawiecki of Nashville, Illinois; Kevin (Dora) Biggs of Iuka; brother Rob (Jan)Melton of Evansville, IN; step children Linda Hamer of Memphis, Becky O’Neill and Danny Combs of Detroit, grandchildren: Jayme (Adam) Bandy, Larry (Amy) Evans, Brandi (Blake) Meyer, Jesse (Kerri) Krawiecki, Jeni Krawiecki, Matthew Biggs and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother-in-law Larry (Sharon L) Karch and sister-in-law Sharon K Karch

She is welcomed into heaven by her parents and brothers Garry and Ronnie Melton, brother-in-law Paul Karch and in-laws Harry & Melba Karch.
