Mae Speiser, 98, of Boulder passed away Monday, March 17, 2025, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was born on January 10, 1927, the daughter of Jess Sr. and Ruby (Yardley) Quick in Boulder. She married Ralph V. Speiser on May 16, 1945, and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1995.

Survivors that will remember Mae’s amazing life lived for others include her sister, Gwen Capps of Indianapolis, IN; her sisters-in-law, Darlene Quick of Centralia, IL, and Adeline Quick of Rockford, IL; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and scores of special friends.

Along with her husband of 50 blessed years, Ralph V. Speiser, Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Sr. and Ruby Quick; her brothers, Darrell Quick, Pete Quick, David (Ann) Quick, Gaylord (Joan) Quick, and Jess Jr. (Juanita) Quick; her brother-in-law, Bob Capps; and her precious daughter, Jean Speiser.

Mae was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and contributed the peace she had through the storms in her life to Him. She was grateful for the support of her church family and appreciative of how being with God’s people helped her faith to grow. Mae loved on and was a great encourager for her church families at Huey, Boulder and Sandoval Methodist Churches and Regeneration Church of God in Salem. Mae embraced being a wife and mother with determination and grace. Her home was comfortable and welcoming to all and she was the heart of her home. Mae thoroughly enjoyed life on the farm and was a great help to her husband, Ralph. She had an amazing green thumb, relishing time working the soil in the garden, growing bountiful vegetables every season. Mae was extremely creative and talented, sewing and quilting beautiful quilts to share with family and friends. She had a generous heart and would never hesitate to give what she could to help someone in need. Mae was truly loved by everyone, and to know her was to love her.
